There's a hole...
On the way into work this morning, I noticed plumes of smoke coming off the back of the bike. Best course of action being to get off the motorway, & the best way to get off the motorway was to follow my usual route to work.
Highways agency traffic officers (directing traffic at the M4 / M32 junction - lights out of action) didn't point anything out to me, Ducati rider at M32 / A4174 junction didn't say a word, no other drivers hooted, flashed, waved or anything.
Still smoking & with a rich smell of burning chemicals, I pulled into the car park at work. A quick inspection revealed white stuff sprayed all over the engine.
The source of the stuff was the radiator, and the reason was a hole. Perhaps a stone, or similar, had been thrown up and punctured the radiator.
Called Bristol Kawasaki - very helpful, but having their own challenges as their parts department was burgaled overnight - who couldn't come and fetch it. My own recovery outfit (First Call) despatched their man, who arrived in the hour and took my bike away.
Just waiting to hear from Kawasaki...
