Children's Books

Here's an interesting site, Real Children's Books. Reviving the ancient art of reading as a family.

Beauty in Stonehouse

If you're near Stonehouse, Glos, & you're looking for beauty treatments, Serenity might be right up your street!

Perfect for Christmas

Just in time to solve all your personal and corporate Christmas shopping problems, those nice (award winning!) people at the Best of Briitsh Deli in Bath have brought out a range of Organic Hampers, full of tasty treats. Recommended!

The award? Bath Life's "New Business of the Year". Not bad, eh?

Best of British deli

About time I gave a plug to a nice shop in Bath. The Best of British Deli sells organic British food at good prices too. Worth a visit if you're in Bath.

Everyone's doing it

It seems that everyone & his dog (or goat) has a blog at the moment. With all this blogging, there can't be many people who have the time to read these things. I've just set up a blog, to see how it's done, mainly. So My Web Digest is open for business. Basically, I'm just collecting news & articles that catch my eye.

Oh yeah, and it was sort of easy. About 7 out of ten on the easiness scale.

Red mercury

You must have a look at this: Red mercury story at the Reg. A great example of not letting the facts get in the way of a good story. And another example of people being arrested for "being in possession of a foreign sounding name".

Daily Mail readers can now rest safely in their beds, knowing that these people have been prevented from making anything out of something that dosen't exist.

Full as an egg

Am I the only person who uses the phrase "as full as an egg" to mean "really full"?

I thought it was in general use, but a quick poll round the office finds me in a minority of one.

Sky plus ate my phone

Seems my Sky plus box isn't playing nice with Voip. My Sipura SPA 3000 reports line voltage -5V, ie "phone receiver lifted". I've unplugged the Sky plus box (contract requires it be plugged in at all times), so that I can use my phone line.

Update: 18:00, back from work, plugged it back in, all working fine. Sky lets me have my phone line back!

I was always a little uncertain about signing up for Sky, only because of the "constantly connected to a phone line" clause. Not, strangely, for privacy reasons - Murdoch can know which episodes of "Charmed" I've watched - but for the practicalities.
